Created in honor of Joliet’s Rialto Square Theatre’s 100th anniversary, this piece pays tribute to all who bring the theater to life with the audience members who have filled the red velvet seats, captivated by the talent on stage, the performers who have graced it, the lighting and stage crews working behind the curtain, the volunteers who have guided us to our seats and served our cocktails, the staff who keep this “jewel” polished and welcoming, and the sponsors whose generosity keeps its doors open for all to admire.
This space holds deep personal meaning for me, as my family has been making memories at the Rialto my whole life. The intricate details of the theater are so extraordinary that they can never be fully absorbed in a single moment. I continue to marvel at its beauty time and time again. May it always be our “Jewel of Joliet.”
