Biography

About Beverly

Beverly Ann Wines grew up in Joliet, Illinois tucked in a cozy little neighborhood called “Camelot.” Her childhood home was situated on the DuPage River, alongside acres of woods. Beverly’s parents allowed her and her younger brother and sister to explore the woods to make forts, create trails, and boat the river, all while respecting nature. For Beverly, that freedom within the woods as a child influenced her imagination and
creativity within her art as an adult. Sticks, leaves and bark eventually evolved into Beverly using thick, deep acrylic paints, soft watercolor painting strokes, and stamped clay sculpting techniques in her work.

Beverly attended Eastern Illinois University, earning her bachelor’s degree in elementary education with a focus in art. She enjoyed an opportunity to study abroad in London for a semester. Beverly has spent the past 25 years sharing her love of art with elementary and middle school aged children as an art teacher in Minooka, Illinois. She is a published illustrator for the children’s series, Gutsy Girls. Beverly has painted many murals for friends and family over the years, and her most recent project includes a commissioned mural designed and painted for a local Minooka, Illinois restaurant, Rooted.

Today, Beverly continues to explore nature at home and in her travels, including the inspirational state of Montana where her family spends their summer months. Beverly thrives with the support of her nuclear family, all of whom she draws inspiration from. She recently moved back to her childhood home, where she continues to share the joys of nature with her four children and loving husband, Jake.
